Conmebol has set the dates for the 2026 South American Recopa between Flamengo and Lanús, the winners of this year's continental tournaments. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the first leg will be held at the stadium of the team that won the Copa Sudamericana, meaning 'La Fortaleza' of 'El Granate' will host the first match on February 18. The second leg will be played in Brazil, possibly at the Maracanã, on the 25th of the same month. As has been the case for some time, this tournament will be Conmebol's first continental title of the year. Lanús arrives after beating Atlético Mineiro on penalties in the Sudamericana, while Flamengo defeated Palmeiras 1-0 in regular time. The last edition was between Racing and Botafogo, where the Avellaneda team won the championship by winning both matches 2-0 for a 4-0 aggregate.
